STARBUCKS RESERVE
The proposed Starbucks Reserve at Tank Bund is envisioned as an urban landmark that reinterprets the café experience along one of Hyderabad's most iconic public edges. Positioned between the expanse of Hussain Sagar Lake and the fast-moving city fabric, the design responds to both-opening itself to the lake while creating moments of pause within the urban rush.
The proposal aims to elevate the everyday coffee ritual into an immersive spatial experience rooted in context, views, and movement. The architecture is conceived as a porous, layered structure that blurs boundaries between inside and outside.
Terraces, spill-out decks, and shaded seating zones are oriented toward the water, allowing uninterrupted visual connections to the lake and skyline. Circulation is designed as a gradual unfolding-drawing visitors through varying scales of space, from active public edges to quieter, contemplative seating areas.
The built form remains light and transparent, ensuring the lake remains the primary protagonist. Materiality and detailing reflect the Reserve identity while responding to the local climate and setting.
Warm textures, crafted elements, and filtered light create an atmosphere that is both refined and relaxed. The proposal positions the café not just as a destination, but as an urban pause- where architecture frames views, slows time, and allows the city and the lake to be experienced through the lens of everyday ritual.
