Milky Way Development is envisioned as a strategic urban insert along Salt Lake City’s evolving 9-Line Corridor, responding to the city’s shifting demographics, housing pressures, and the need for inclusive growth. Positioned within a historically layered urban fabric, the project reclaims underutilized land to introduce a mixed-use, mixed-income development that prioritizes housing diversity, walkability, and transit-oriented living.

Rooted in the broader vision of stitching east and west Salt Lake City, the proposal strengthens neighborhood identity while remaining sensitive in scale to its surrounding residential context. The development is structured around the idea of connectivity social, ecological, and spatial.

A network of pedestrian-friendly streets, courtyards, open pockets, and active ground floors creates breathing spaces within the dense urban fabric, encouraging everyday public life. Residential units are layered above retail, co-working, and community-oriented programs, fostering a live work leisure ecosystem.

Landscape, mobility, and built form are carefully integrated to support sustainable living, promote economic vitality, and reinforce the 9-Line Corridor as a continuous cultural and urban spine for the city.
